Enfants&Développement in Lao

E&D has been present in Lao since 1987. At first, E&D focused on development projects in pediatric services in hospitals, in the fight against child malnutrition, and in improving quality treatment by medical staff in Lao. Since 1999, E&D has been working directly with villagers on primary healthcare programs.

E&D in LAO from 1987 to 2003

1987 : Pediatric staff training program in Vientiane and the province.

October 12th 1988 : Creation of a pilot unit for diarrhoea and malnutrition treatment .

1988 to 1992: Collaboration to improve teaching in an institute for auxiliary-nurses, in Vientiane .

February 1989 - 1990: Building and equipping an external consultation service in Phyalath.

1990 to 2002: Training for doctors and nurses in Mahosot pediatrics department.

March 1993 to June 2003: Primary healthcare programme in Pak Ngum district.

January 1993 to 1998 : Primary health care programme in Luang Namtha district.

April 1999 to 2003: Primary health care programme in Bokeo district.
