Expected results
- Children are removed from the outskirts of society and reintegrated.
- Children are given a basic education and professional skills.
- Families are better able to assure the protection and respond to the needs of their children.
- Targeted groups in Nepalese society are sensitized and encouraged to act responsibly with regard to the protection of children's rights, specifically with respect to sexual abuse.
- A team of well trained educators and social workers will be able to give care to children and their families.

Outlook
Since the project is co-financed with the European Union as of early 2004, it has means for acting with greater effectiveness. Children's homes will be moved and rebuilt outside of the capital, sexual abuse prevention will be reinforced, and family support for "at risk" families will be put into place, modeled off of E&D's experiences in the Philippines and Cambodia.
