Enfants&Développement in Cambodia.

E&D arrived (under the name of SOS Enfants du Cambodge ) amongst the first in Cambodia, in 1984. The sanitary situation has been catastrophic, and the children are the first victims: one in five dies before the age of five. Little by little, Cambodia, destroyed and traumatized, has been trying to define its priorities according to the needs of these children in terms of health and education. The association supports the structures which urgently receive those who are sick or abandoned.

In parallel, at the request of the Ministry of Health, E&D has been expanding prevention and basic pediatric care. And, as it must also improve the conditions of awareness and education for children ages 0 to 6, the association has helped the Ministry of Health and Education since 1987 to adapt the daycares and preschools to the needs of the children and to the resources of the country.

Today:

Twenty years later, Cambodia remains the intervention zone where E&D has the most presence (19% of our resources are devoted to the country). We have created two local associations there (Sovann Phoum and Krousar Yoeung) with which we currently guide 2 programs:
